Anti-Ragging Policy

Nehru Nursing College enforces a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging to ensure a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all students. The institution strictly follows the guidelines of the Indian Nursing Council (INC), UGC, and State Government directives to make the campus ragging-free.

Anti-Ragging Committee & Cell

  • An active Anti-Ragging Committee is constituted comprising the Principal, faculty members, hostel wardens, and student representatives.
  • The committee meets regularly and is empowered to investigate and take strict action against any complaints.

Monitoring and Prevention

  • 24/7 monitoring in hostel and academic areas through CCTV surveillance and staff patrol.
  • Orientation programs are conducted at the beginning of the academic year to create awareness on:
    • What constitutes ragging
    • How to report it
    • Consequences of engaging in ragging

Helpline and Reporting

  • A confidential grievance and complaint system is available for students to report any incidents.
  • Contact numbers and email addresses for committee members are displayed across the campus.
  • Students may also report incidents anonymously or approach faculty members directly.

Disciplinary Action

  • Any student found guilty of ragging shall be subjected to strict disciplinary measures, including:
    • Suspension
    • Dismissal
    • Legal prosecution, if necessary
    • The college will extend full cooperation to legal authorities, as per the law.

Declaration & Undertaking

  • All students and parents are required to sign an anti-ragging undertaking during admission.
  • This affirms their commitment to uphold a respectful, abuse-free learning environment.

At Nehru Nursing College, ragging is not just prohibited—it is actively prevented through education, vigilance, and empowerment, fostering a community built on trust, safety, and mutual respect.
