Selection Process

Nehru Nursing College follows a transparent and merit-based admission process for both B.Sc Nursing and M.Sc Nursing programs. The selection process is governed by the rules and regulations of The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, INC, and DME Chennai (for government quota seats).

B.Sc Nursing – Selection Criteria

  • Selection is based on merit in the entrance examination.
  • Candidates must obtain a minimum of 50% marks in the entrance test to qualify.
  • Admission is offered through both:
    • Government Quota (via DME, Chennai)
    • Management Quota (direct admission based on entrance merit and eligibility)
    • Final admission will be confirmed after document verification and medical screening.

M.Sc Nursing – Selection Criteria

  • Admission is strictly based on academic merit and fulfillment of eligibility norms.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with:
    • Relevant clinical work experience
    • Good academic record
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • A personal interview and screening may be conducted to assess suitability for the chosen specialization.
