About the Course

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing) is a four-year undergraduate program designed to prepare students for a rewarding career in healthcare. It equips students with the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to provide high-quality nursing care across diverse clinical settings. The program blends classroom learning with extensive clinical training, enabling students to assess patient needs, plan and implement care, and evaluate outcomes. The course is offered exclusively to female candidates as per the current institutional policy.

The program requires 90% theory and 100% practical attendance, internal assessments, and university exams. Clinical postings, fieldwork, and simulation-based learning form a key part of the curriculum.

About the Labs

Nehru Nursing College offers state-of-the-art laboratories that meet Indian Nursing Council (INC) norms:

Nursing Foundation Lab

This lab is designed to replicate a hospital setting, allowing students to practice fundamental nursing skills like injections, catheterization, wound care and other essential nursing tasks on mannequins and simulators. It includes features like patient beds, bedside lockers, and various medical equipment to enhance the learning experience

Child Health Nursing Lab

These labs are equipped with various tools and resources to simulate real-world paediatric scenarios, allowing students to develop essential skills and confidence in providing safe and effective care for young patients. It has age-appropriate toys and games to help the students to learn and teach how to interact with children and use play as a therapeutic tool.

Community Health Nursing Lab

This lab stimulate community health settings and allowing students to practice health assessments, health promotion, and disease prevention strategies in a community setup

OBG & Midwifery Lab

This lab is designed to provide hands-on training in maternal and new born care. It includes mannequins, equipment, and models for students to practice procedures like antenatal assessments, labour and delivery management, and postpartum care.

Pre Clinical Science lab

This lab allowing students to study human anatomy through models ,charts, bones and other specimens

Nutritional Lab

These labs are equipped for teaching nutritional assessments, meal planning and dietary modifications, often including equipment for food preparation and analysis .

Audio -Visual Aids Lab

This lab enhance teaching, learning, and patient education through visual and auditory methods with a wide range of equipment and materials, including projectors, screens, computers, audio systems, charts, models, and interactive simulations.

Mental Health Nursing Lab

Mental Health Nursing Lab provides a controlled environment for students to learn and practice the skills and it has equipment and resources for simulated patient interactions, psychiatric assessments, and therapeutic interventions

Each lab is well-equipped, ventilated, and spacious, offering hands-on experience to enhance clinical competence. The Skill Lab and Simulation Centre* replicate real-life scenarios, helping students to develop critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
